Mining | GoldBod Reports US$1.011 Billion in October Forex Sales
Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) says its artisanal and small-scale gold trading operations generated US$1.011 billion in foreign exchange during October 2026. In an announcement published on 2 November, the Board said the full amount was sold to authorised commercial banks through its GoFX platform.
For November, GoldBod projects foreign-exchange generation of US$1.2 billion, with US$800 million expected to be available to commercial banks. These figures are forecasts for the month ahead.
The announcement places gold trading at the centre of the Board’s efforts to support foreign-exchange availability and Ghana’s reserve accumulation.
Industry perspective — editorial: Foreign-exchange availability is relevant to suppliers planning imports of mining machinery, tools and spare parts.
